This Long Island customer wanted his Dodge Charger to stand out from the rest, so he asked us to build him the first ever East Coast Wide Body Charger. The first part of this project was deciding what wheel & tire combo to go with. Since this car was going to driven, the customer decided to go with a 22? wheel package, 360 Forged wheels were chosen for the job. The fronts are 22×9's and the rears are a huge 22×12. Pirelli tires were chosen as the tire brand, utilizing a 335/30 for the rear tire size. Once we received the custom built wheels, work began on stretching the rear quarter panels some 3 inches on each side to be able to clear the massive rim width.
We approached our design a little different then what was previously seen coming out of California by making a pie cut to the rear door frame and separating and pushing the door outward. The quarter panels were then cut off, sectioned, moved out 3 inches, then re welded in place. New sheet metal wheel house panels were also fabricated and welded in place. In addition to the wide body conversion, we also added a complete Grip Tuning body kit, custom led tail lamps, custom steel vented fenders, Ram Air hood, and a modified Danko rear spoiler that has been molded to the tail lamps and truck panel. The car also got a full air ride suspension system by Universal Air Suspension, some audio work, and a Road Wire interior.
To top it all off the entire car was refinished in Dodge Pearl Blue with flat black accents. The car was finished just in time for the 2010 Dub Show Tour that was held at Englishtown Race Way, where it took 1st place in the entire Chrysler Class.
